Just before the year 2009 came, a Chinese phrase "zheteng" became popular

nationwide soon after it was used by President Hu. As this commonly used phrase

contains complicated and subtle meanings and has no equivalent in English, the

interpreter had to temporarily transliterate it. I think it means turning from side to

side, causing painful trouble.

For example, a student turned to a new tutor again and again for several times

within a semester, and he changed his textbooks .frequently, too. Consequently, he

learned nothing because of "zheteng". Neither a country nor an individual can bear

the cost of such a frequent turning from side to side. '

In short, stableness is the key to progress when a road or method is chosen. No

wonder President Hu called for us to say no to "zheteng". (134 words)
