上海遭遇24年最大的降雪

    Since Jan, 25th, 2008，a big snow has been attacking Shanghai for 4 days

continuously. The snow in the downtown area yesterday was as thick as 6

centimeters, and the amount of snowfall has broken the record in the past 24 years

according to weather experts.

    Thousands of passengers are waiting anxiously in the Long Distance Bus Station

while several lines have been cancelled. Two nearby schools are ready to provide

them with food and temporary lodging accommodations. Mayor Han Zheng visited

the station last night and had friendly talks with the migrant workers hurrying home

for the Spring Festival.

  No. 6 People's Hospital is crowded with patients. The number of those with 

broken bones has sharply increased by 8 times compared with the same day last year.
