金钱可以购买幸福吗？Can money buy happiness?

作者 朱培育  以前某人说世间熙熙攘攘，皆为名利来。金钱当然重要了，物质生活离不开它，然而你不幸福难道仅仅是因为你缺钱吗？看看本文作者的深入分析，也许你会豁然开朗的。A thousand years ago, the poet, Dufu stood in his leaky and shabby thatched cottage, deplored the society and his own life experience, he said:” Could I get mansions covering the ten thousand miles, I’d house all scholars poor and make them beam with smile.” I always wonder if I had time machine to go back to Tang Dynasty, and use money to build the house for him and all the poor, would he feel happy ? Though money couldn’t solve all the problems, I do believe money can help to buy us happiness.
We always say that when the granaries are full, men appreciate rites and obligations. That’s to say, economic base determines upper structure. And happiness is a state of mind. According to Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs, we should first satisfy our physical needs, such as food, clothing and shelter, all of which need money to buy. Then we can go higher stage, which we call them esteem need and self-realization need, that’s the most possible stage to achieve happiness, so we can conclude that to some degree, money is the basic stage when talk about happiness. Imagine you are homeless, naked and starved ,to be exact, you are a tramp, do you have the mood or ability to talk about pursuing happiness? Not everyone has the courage as Diogenes to ask for sunshine only. We are living in a material world, sometimes money do has its position to buy happiness.
What’s more, though happiness is an philosophical word, it is abstract and probably the most elusive thing in the world, something attached to it is concrete, most important of them is wish. It is no doubt we’ll feel happy if we can fulfill our dream, and during this process, money is usually necessary. From buying fancy clothes to finishing our university study, we all need money. As a result, we receive a lot from the generous offer, such as satisfactory, and happiness.
Thirdly, there are some people in the world who achieve happiness through helping others and contributing to the whole society, as for these normal but great people, money can be a useful tool to do such contribution. With money, this kind of spiritually rewarding act can be easier and wider.
At last, I‘d like to point out that don’t blame your unhappiness for a lack of money. Money can buy you happiness for some time, but your happiness shouldn’t determined by money. As we often say: money isn’t almighty, God is. And God is just in your heart. I‘ll add it like this: God is always in your heart, He tells you how to make money and how to obtain happiness. Only through devoting to the cause of helping others can you feel an inner bliss that accompanies you at every moment of your  lives.
